Lincoln Park UBF

Lincoln Park UBF is a non-denominational Christian church ministry comprised of college students and young adults from the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago. We are a local chapter of University Bible Fellowship (UBF), which is an international ministry at college campuses throughout the world.

We welcome students and young adults from all faiths and backgrounds to come and learn with us what Christian spirituality is and what it means to follow Jesus.

What We Do

Bible Study

We believe the Bible is spiritual food that nourishes us. We believe it helps us see truthfully who God is and who we are.  We study the Bible one-on-one, in small groups, and through listening to Sunday sermons. We study the Bible inductively, historically, and metaphorically in an attempt to learn who God is, who we are, and what it means to live in relationship with him.

Prayer

We believe prayer is like breathing the air that sustains us. We pray individually, with each other, after meetings and at home when we’re by ourselves. We pray to listen to God, to find his will for our lives, as well as to ask his help for ourselves and for others.

Worship

We believe that God is the only one worth worshiping. We try to live daily lives of worship. We express our lives of worship when we’re together through music—praising God by singing and listening to music in meditation and reverence for God.

Fellowship

We believe that our love for each other is the continued expression of God’s love for us. We try to be friends with each other—both when it’s easy and when it's difficult. We hang out together, watch movies, study, eat, laugh, cry, listen to and pray for each other.

Outreach

We believe that God's love compels us to share his love with others. We believe this manifests in serving the less fortunate, in giving. We believe in sharing the Gospel using the Bible, our own words, without words, in living out lives of love and imitating Jesus wherever we are.
